Pushpa Khanal’s narrative is a tale of resilience, determination, and unwavering dedication to her craft, rooted in the humble beginnings of a remote village in eastern Nepal. Born into a middle-class family to parents Damanta Khanal and Ambika Prasad Khanal, Pushpa’s upbringing was marked by the values of perseverance and courage, instilled by her parents. Growing up in the rustic charm of her village, Pushpa experienced the typical life of a middle-class family child. Despite the financial constraints, her mother, driven by a fierce determination, made the pivotal decision to ensure Pushpa’s access to education. This decision laid the cornerstone for Pushpa’s journey towards a brighter future.

Throughout her childhood, Pushpa displayed a hint of stubbornness, a trait that would later serve her well in overcoming the obstacles that lay ahead. Despite the challenges, she successfully completed her schooling in both her village and a neighboring one, setting the stage for her future endeavors.

At the tender age of 18, Pushpa embarked on her professional journey, securing her first job as a receptionist at a travel agency. With diligence and determination, she swiftly ascended the ranks, earning a promotion to the position of an officer. Seeking to broaden her horizons and diversify her skills, she underwent journalism training, marking a significant transition in her career path.

Pushpa’s foray into the field of journalism led her to Nepal Television, where she dedicated a year and a half to her role. Her time at the broadcasting station not only honed her skills but also fueled her passion for storytelling and communication.

Driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact, Pushpa transitioned to the Humanitarian Organization – Nepal Red Cross Society. Over the course of 18 years, she served in various departments, assuming different roles within the organization. Her tenure at the Red Cross was marked by unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes and a relentless commitment to serving her community.

Despite her considerable contributions to the organization, Pushpa eventually reached a crossroads in her career. After much contemplation, she made the bold decision to resign from her long-standing position, seeking new avenues for personal and professional growth.

Since her post-teenage years, Pushpa has been dedicated to the art of writing, viewing her experiences as a source of empowerment for her words. As a writer and lyricist, she channels her passion into crafting soulful and meaningful compositions, with a particular focus on highlighting the achievements of women in literature.
